WE HAVE MOVED! Please find us at our new website by clicking here!
The meeting went well -- about 20 people showed up. We watched a clip of Dawkins interacting with Ted Haggert in "The Root of All Evil -- Part 1". We then discussed the role of a group like ours, how we will and will not interact with theistic groups, etc.
We talked a bit about developing some resources for the group, such as the library idea, getting our banner done, tabling, the IDEAL SOF, and moving the dates of the meetings around to accomodate more people.
These were some of Dave Misvel's thoughts: "Personally, if we're going to have a discussion about a particular topic during the meeting, I think it might be nice to just post the topic on the blog, so people would have time to think about it and be a little more prepared. Perhaps people might have more to say...
I think having an earlier meeting would conflict with schedules more than it would be convenient for people not having to come back on campus again in the evening. Changing the meeting days up, though, might be nice for those who have to work nights, allowing them to attend sometimes."
I would love to hear from more of you about what happens at our meetings, and your take on it. Please leave your comments on the posts, even anonymously if you like.
