Next meeting, our faculty advisor, Prof. Witmer, will be doing an extremely relevant presentation at our next meeting, looking at questions surrounding the apologetic position referred to as "Presuppositionalism" (P) -- which is basically a critical apologetic position from which Christians argue that only Christianity can provide a foundation for morals, the uniformity of nature, or a foundation for reason/logic itself. P is different from Evidentialism-based apologetics in that its major emphasis is upon reductio ad absurdum critiques of alternative worldviews (any non-Christian ones). Specifically, "presups" (those who subscribe to P) declare morality, scientific conclusions, and logic/rationality itself as "unjustified" outside of the Christian worldview -- that those things rely upon the Christian God and God's attributes for their foundation.
I suggest you read up a little on the topic to be prepared for hearty discussion. For more information, see HERE and HERE for arguments against P, and HERE for a discussion in favor of P.
I will pass along Prof. Witmer's title and any synopsis he may (or may not) offer later on, when I receive them.
As always, check the Meetings page for updates and information. Contact us using info from our Facebook profiles if you have questions about meeting times/places/etc. See you there!
